Fighting Spam with Exchange

Hi,

Again not a long post, but never the less, hopefully something useful;

Recently I found a piece of software which extends the IMF somewhat. It gives the ability to do Whitelisting and Blacklisting, Adjust SCLs by Keyword, Reroute mail to a mailbox or PF (a quaretine area), Strip attachments and much more.

To find out more about this software check out the website here:

http://www.windeveloper.com/imftune/

Overall, I personally find that the outsourced solution for Spam management (Exchange Hosted Services, MessageLabs, Postini etc) is the best/easiest solution but if you have no choice (or funds) for such a solution then the software above should help. (Note it isn't free but is not at all expensive)

Cheers

Nathan

Good tip from Nathan.

I also agree that is you want to go down the hosted road then Messagelabs and Postini is a good option.

In addition, if you are looking for a solution that does not send mail via another companies server, then look at Cloudmark. (In the UK check out www.mooresecureit.com/spam, in the US check www.cloudmark.com). This solution works excellent straight out of the box. I set it up in 10-minutes and have not had to touch it again.

Kind Regards Col
