This document is an investigation into Exchange 2007 resource booking functionality.
In particular I look at the following requirements:
1. The ability to book resources for a given room (which, technically speaking, is also a resource), e.g. Video Conferencing Unit, Catering, etc. – if possible these should be customisable fields.
2. A simple view where all meeting rooms at all three sites (LDN, NYC and HKG) can be viewed, preferably using the local time for each site.
3. Full sharing and security role definition for different members of the admin team.
4. The ability to search for available resources and provide options for alternatives if the specified room is unavailable.
5. A simple way to move and cancel meetings without leaving ‘stale’ calendar items in the resource’s calendar.
