This may nto be in the right subforum can someone move it to a more appropriate if so.

As part of a migration to exchange 2003 I am uninstalling exchange 2000 from the old server that is going to remain on the network as a dc and file server.
While uninstalling I get the below error in the exchange log.
I havwe google my but off but I can't find a reason.

So, is this actually preventing the uninstall from completing?

Sorry I should have been more clear. Yeah it is causing the uninstall to fail.
It is uninstalling a fair amount of exchange however, but isn't de-registering the services associated, so it has issues when it boots up.

This could be for a whole plethora of reasons.  I would suggest logging a call with PSS to troubleshoot. 

If you definitley need to keep the server for other functions, want a DIY option and you're sure that you moved all PFs , address lists, DL expansion, OABs, routing masters etc etc off that server then you could consider the following article:

Buyer beware... it’s fairly irreversible stuff in the KB J.  Do a full back up before trying.
