Hi,

I have only one site to install exchange 2007 into but would like to ensure resilience to the Hub servers. Does anyone know whether there is any difference between having:

a. 2 x Hub servers - the mail submission service will distribute the load

OR,

2. 2 x NLB Hub severs ?

Is there any point of having NLB in this scenario?

N.B. CAS will be on separate machine, and so will be the Mailbox role

Greatful if you could help, this question has been on my mind for a while now...

Hi,

Well it depends ;)

Basically, if all the hub servers are doing is simple mail routing for Exchange then just having two will be fine.

If you want to load balance receive connectors perhaps for relaying then NLB would be useful.
