How to forward only external emails (from internet only) in exchange 2007.

    Hi,

I want to know if and how it is possible to forward only external emails within exchange 2007. Like emails comming from internet and not those flowing within the organization for certain mailboxes should forward to a particular mailbox user or distribution group.

    Regards,

    Kamal

    Hi,

    That's a tricky one.

It would appear to be possible to setup a server based rule which will forward mail received from a specific person or distribution list, but there is no method to specific external mail.

My thoughts would be to take a look at Transport Rules and see if anything can be done there.

    Cheers

    Nathan

Re: How to forward only external emails (from internet only) in exchange 2007.

    Hi Nathan,

I think I should be more specific in my question. Actually my boss wants all external emails comming to our exchange, to be forwarded to his mailbox as he wants to monitor what's going on in terms of business communication. But on the other hand he is not interested in getting internal emails (like emails exchange between our colleagues).

I am not very good in Exchange so I didn't get what u mentioned abt transport rules. The only thing I found before was to "Delivery Options" in "Mail Flow Settings" where I can set forwarding but it will forward all emails (internal + external) and that's what we don't want.

    Thanks and kind regards,

    Kamal
