    Install/Uninstall error on CCR W2K8SP2

Seems like it's just me in here....Any way. Have 2 HP DL 580G5s with W2K8 SP2 Clustered in Failover.
Installation of Exchange Active Cluster failed due to serial issue (Not too sure why) but thought, no issue. Uninstall then research then try again. Bad news is I can't uninstall.

    Event ID 1002 MSExchSetup

Exchange Server component Clustered Mailbox Server failed.
    Error: Error:
'Server1' does not have the right Exchange Server version or role required to support this operation.

Anybody able to help? This is a live Exchange environment with 4000+ mailboxes.

Re: Install/Uninstall error on CCR W2K8SP2

OK, first the bad news. It looks as though there is no way around this. Basically the system thinks Exchange is installed, but it's not nor is there a version number so you can't uninstall it.
However after removing thee V8 registry entries then dismantling the cluster and removing the Node from the domain, I was then able to ADSIEdit out the entries for this server under the Exchange configuration. This allowed the Other Exchange servers to open the EMC without issue.
Now I just have to re-install the OS and Exchange. This time I think I'll leave off W2K8 SP2!!
